About

After spending five years in South Florida, bouncing around different neighborhoods in Miami, I felt particularly drawn and inspired by the Coconut Grove area of South Miami. Peacocks stroll down the narrow roads, palms and banyan trees create a lush canopy overhead. Occasionally I’d see a duo of Scarlet macaws flying above the road, as if following traffic in their own parrot-airspace.

I moved out of Miami in 2023, to try to find a quieter, simpler place to live. I landed in Wilmington, North Carolina, a small-but-growing beach town, with consistent palm trees but variable seasons. It’s a happy medium between my native Falls Church, Virginia and my love of Miami.

In many of my works, I focus on bright florals, including creatures like koi fish and tree frogs, and a sprinkle of the Cuban culture I grew to love in Miami (like in my latest Linocut carved stamp of a ‘cafetera’ (or Mokapot), made for my dog Lucky’s 15th birthday party.

In recent months, I’ve joined the Cape Fear Orchid Society, a local group of orchid-enthusiasts who gather monthly to show of their plants’ latest blooms and share knowledge about growing and caring for a variety of orchid species.

You’ll see orchids appear quite readily in my works as well.

If you’re interested in a commissioned piece, whether it be an oil painting, linocut carved piece, or something sculptural, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
